Meet Dr. Peterson

Dr. Ryan Peterson is a medical optometrist providing comprehensive eye care with an emphasis on glaucoma management, ocular disease, and surgical co-management. He evaluates and treats patients with glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, dry eye disease, and cataracts, and works closely with ophthalmologists in both pre- and post-operative care.

Education and Training

Dr. Peterson, a Las Vegas native, completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (2000), and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry (2005). He is glaucoma certified in Nevada and holds therapeutic pharmaceutical agent certification. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO).

Skills and Experience

Dr. Peterson has many years in clinical experience. His experience includes owning a private practice in Las Vegas for 17 years, corporate optometry services at Nellis Air Force Base, and ophthalmology group practices, with co-management of advanced glaucoma and corneal procedures, including trabeculectomy, tube shunts, and corneal transplants.

Dr. Peterson speaks English and Portuguese and has working proficiency in optometry-related Spanish. He enjoys his family, films, and a good meal.
